I Don’t Go Online That Much. How Do We Sign Up to Hear About Your Specials?
Please don’t worry. I won’t barrage your inbox with daily e-mails. You are signing up to receive only a handful of e-mails a year to let you know when I am having special limited edition portrait sessions or contests. I respect your privacy and will not sell your information either. To sign up for this unobtrusive service, please see the subscription link on our Contact page.
How Do We Book A Session?
Sessions can be booked via e-mail on our contact page or by calling (808) 782-7079. We are available to take calls Monday through Friday from 9 am until 5pm.
How Far In Advance Should We Book Our Session?
Because availability varies greatly throughout the year, it is in your best interest to call as soon as possible to book your session. We do our best to accommodate last minute calls, but flexibility in scheduling is greatly limited.
Do You Schedule Sessions For Visitors To Hawaii?
Of course! But, if you are traveling with children and want family portraits done, please plan to get at least 48 hours of rest before you have your session so that your children can adjust to the time change. Children have an especially difficult time adjusting and may not be 100% cooperative for portraits if they have not had time to recuperate.
Do You Take Pictures On Location?
Yes, portrait sessions can be on location, this includes the beach, your home, or just about wherever else tickles your fancy. There is an extra charge of $50 added to your session fee for this service.
What Should We Wear?
We’ll talk to you about what you should wear depending on the type of session you are having, but here are some general guidelines to start off. The first basic rule is to keep it simple. No big or busy patterns, in other words. Colors should be subtle. Light colors or medium tone shades are acceptable. For family pictures, everyone should be wearing the same color scheme. Why? Because this way the focus is not on the clothing but rather on your faces. Lastly, women should have sleeves on their blouses when and if possible. Why? Because you do not want your arms competing for attention with your face. Again, we’ll talk to you a bit more when you call us.
How Do I Prepare For My Baby’s Sessions?
We recently interviewed a mom whose baby just completed his first year of portraits with us. In this video, she talks about how to prepare for the sessions and her experience with the photographer, Gabi. Please pardon the fact that this is not the most elaborate production you will see, but we hope you take away from this helpful information when preparing your baby for his or her session with us. If you haven’t made your mind up yet about who will photograph your baby, hopefully this will help you in your decision making process. Enjoy!
When Do I Get To See My Proofs?
We do our best to get your proofs done as soon as possible, but it will depend on the time of year and how busy the studio is. Our goal is to have them ready for viewing within a couple of weeks. You will receive an e-mail with the access code to view your proofs online. Proofs will be online for 10 days. Once the viewing period ends, you can have your proofs placed online again for a fee of $25. As of January 1, 2011 there will be a $100 print credit with the session fee. In order to use this print credit, orders must be made within the 10 day viewing period.
